ICT Week @ PPKT(Pusat Pengetahuan, Komunikasi dan Teknologi) is one of the annual events organized by PPKT, USM(University Sains Malaysia). Apart from providing exposure related to the latest developments in IT, it is also meant to promote PPKT as an ICT Service Centre to fulfil the requirements for teaching, learning, research, administration and management of the university.
The theme for ICT Week @ PPKT 2009 is “KELESTARIAN ICT PEMANGKIN INNOVASI”and its main objective is to expose the public and the campus community, especially international students in USM with knowledge and information on issues related to advancements in the development of ICT and threats in ICT technology as well as the ICT industry.
A variety of activities will be held during the ICT Expo such as IT Talks, ICT Courses for primary and secondary school children, Quizzes, Sales of IT products, Demo on Application Development and many others.
In this year’s ICT Week, i was honoured to be invited to give a talk on technology and IT gadget. Guess what was the topic that i have chosen……it is of course none other than something that i have been very passionate about – the iPhone!
The talk was on the 23rd July 2009 and was attended by 70 participants which comprised the staff, lecturers, researchers as well as students of USM. Below are some of the pictures captured during the talk(using my iPhone 3G in a dim room backlight meant for presentation and without photo-editing).

After the talk, i do managed to chat with some of the participants and the feedback given was that the iPhone was indeed an awesome device that many of them would like to get a hand on someday…..
Lastly, i would like to express my appreciation to the organizing committee of PPKT@USM for inviting me to speak at the USM ICT Week 2009 as well as express my congratulations to PPKT for an event well organized! Bravo.
